Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow each step to make the recipe successfully.

  1. Prepare the filling mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup grated paneer, 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes, and 1/4 cup chopped onions.

  2. Add egg and spices

Crack 1 large egg into the bowl with the vegetables and paneer. Add 1 teaspoon of red chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon of cumin powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.

  3. Mix the filling

Mix all the ingredients thoroughly with a spoon until well combined and the egg is fully incorporated.

  4. Assemble the sandwiches

Take 4 slices of bread. Spread the prepared filling mixture evenly over one side of each bread slice. Grate some additional paneer over the mixture on the bread slices for extra flavor.

  5. Form the sandwiches

Place another bread slice on top of the filled bread slice to form a sandwich.

  6. Pan-fry the sandwiches

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil or butter in a pan over medium heat. Carefully place the assembled sandwiches into the hot pan. Cook for per side, or until both sides are golden brown and crispy.

  7. Cut and serve

Remove the sandwiches from the pan. Using a knife, cut each sandwich diagonally into two triangles. Arrange the bread triangles on a serving plate.

  8. Garnish

Garnish the spicy paneer and egg with fresh onion rings before serving.
