Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Melt Ghee

Add 4 tablespoons of ghee to a pan and melt it on low flame until it's fully liquid.

Step 2: Combine Ingredients

Add 2 cups of milk powder, 1/2 cup of powdered sugar, and 1/2 cup of milk to the melted ghee in the pan.

Step 3: Cook Mixture

Mix all ingredients well with a spatula. Stir continuously on low flame for approximately until the mixture thickens and starts to leave the pan, forming a cohesive dough-like mass.

Step 4: Cool Slightly

Remove the pan from the heat and let the mixture cool down slightly for a few minutes, making it easier to handle.

Step 5: Form Balls

While the mixture is still warm, take small portions and roll them between your palms to form smooth, round balls.

Step 6: Shape Pedas

Place each ball into a peda mould and press gently to create the traditional peda shape with a decorative pattern.

Step 7: Garnish

Garnish each peda with chopped almonds, pista, and a few saffron strands for an appealing finish.

Pro Tips

• Stir continuously on low flame to prevent the mixture from burning or sticking to the pan.

• Prepare pedas while the mixture is still warm; it will be easier to shape and prevent crumbling.

• Adjust the amount of powdered sugar according to your sweetness preference.

Recipe Variations

• Add 1/2 teaspoon of cardamom powder to the mixture for an enhanced aromatic flavor.

• Experiment with different types of chopped nuts like cashews or walnuts for varied textures and flavors.

• For a richer flavor, you can add a few drops of rose water or kewra essence.
