Nutella French Toast Rolls – Sweet Breakfast

Ingredients

  • 6 slicesSandwich bread
  • 6 tablespoonsNutella chocolate hazelnut spread
  • 20 gramsButter

Cinnamon Sugar

  • 2 tablespoonsWhite sugar
  • 1 teaspoonGround cinnamon

Egg Wash

  • 1Egg
  • 1 tablespoonMilk

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1.Prepare the bread

    Cut the crusts off 6 slices of regular sandwich bread.

  2. 2.Flatten the bread

    Using a rolling pin, flatten each piece of bread until it is nice and flat.

  3. 3.Spread Nutella

    Take each rolled-out piece of bread and spread it with Nutella chocolate hazelnut spread.

  4. 4.Roll the bread

    Gently roll up each piece of bread to make a nice little roll. Continue this process for all the bread slices.

  5. 5.Make cinnamon sugar

    In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of white sugar with about a heaped teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Mix them together until well combined, then set aside.

  6. 6.Prepare egg wash

    In another small bowl, crack 1 egg and add a small splash of milk, approximately 1 tablespoon. Using a fork, beat the egg and milk together until you achieve a nice, runny mixture.

  7. 7.Melt butter

    Place a frying pan over medium heat and add about 20 grams of butter. Allow the butter to melt and become bubbly.

  8. 8.Fry the rolls

    Dip each Nutella French toast roll into the egg mixture, shaking off any excess. Place the coated rolls straight into the hot pan. Allow them to cook for about a minute per side, or until they are nice and golden all over.

  9. 9.Coat in cinnamon sugar

    Once cooked, roll each French toast roll in the prepared cinnamon sugar, ensuring they are nicely coated.

  10. 10.Serve

    Serve the completed Nutella French toast rolls and enjoy this ridiculously decadent treat.
