All Ingredients - Main Ingredients

  1. Black Grapes 300 gms
  2. Salt (for washing) 1/2 spoon
  3. Salt (for juice) 2 pinches
  4. Pepper Powder 1/4 tsp
  5. Honey 2 spoons
  6. Lemon Juice 1 tsp
  7. Water 1 cup
  8. Ice Cubes as needed
  9. Chia Seeds (soaked, optional) 2 spoons

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Wash the Grapes

In a large bowl of water, add 1/2 spoon of salt. Immerse the bunch of grapes in the salt water and let it soak for to effectively clean them and remove any pesticides. After soaking, pluck the grapes from the stem.

Step 2: Final Rinse

Transfer the plucked grapes to another bowl of clean water and rinse them one more time. Drain the water completely and set the grapes aside.

Step 3: Prepare for Blending

In a blender jar, add the 300g of cleaned grapes. To this, add 2 pinches of salt, 1/4 tsp of pepper powder, 2 spoons of honey, and 1 tsp of lemon juice. Finally, pour in about 1 cup of water.

Step 4: Blend the Juice

Close the lid of the blender and blend the mixture on medium speed for about until the grapes are well crushed and the juice becomes frothy.

Step 5: Strain the Juice

Place a fine-mesh strainer over a bowl. Pour the blended grape mixture through the strainer. Use a spoon to press the pulp against the mesh to extract all the juice. Discard the leftover pulp.

Step 6: Serve the Grape Juice

Take two serving glasses. You can add a few chopped grapes to one glass and 2 spoons of soaked chia seeds to the other for different textures. Add a few ice cubes to each glass. Pour the freshly prepared grape juice into the glasses. Garnish with a whole grape on the rim and serve chilled.

Pro Tips

Washing grapes thoroughly with salt water is crucial to remove pesticides.

Adding a pinch of pepper powder not only enhances the taste but also helps prevent throat irritation that some people experience with grape juice.

Honey is a healthier alternative to sugar, but adjust the sweetness according to the sweetness of your grapes.

For an extra touch, add some chopped grapes or soaked chia seeds to the glass before serving.

Recipe Variations

Sugar or jaggery can be used instead of honey.

Soaked sabja (basil) seeds can be used instead of chia seeds.
