All Ingredients - Main Ingredients

  1. Water 1 tablespoon
  2. Golden Syrup (or Corn Syrup) 2 tablespoons
  3. Red Food Colouring a few drops
  4. Blue Food Colouring 1 drop
  5. Cornflour (Corn Starch) 1/2 teaspoon

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Combine Liquids

Add 1 tablespoon of water to a bowl. Then, add 2 tablespoons of golden syrup (or corn syrup) to the water.

Step 2: Mix Gently

Gently mix the water and golden syrup together until combined.

Step 3: Add Red Food Colouring

Add a few drops of red food coloring to the mixture. Start with a couple of drops, mix it in, and then add more until you achieve the desired red shade.

Step 4: Add Blue Food Colouring

Add one drop of blue food coloring to the mixture. Mix it in to help create a dark, realistic 'veiny blood' color.

Step 5: Thicken with Cornflour

Add 1/2 teaspoon of cornflour (corn starch) to the mixture. Mix thoroughly until the cornflour is completely dissolved and the mixture starts to thicken.

Step 6: Coagulate

Set the bowl aside for to allow the edible fake blood to coagulate and achieve its final thick, gooey consistency.

Pro Tips

• Start with a couple of drops of red food coloring and add more gradually to achieve the desired shade, as it's easier to add more than to remove.

• For an even thicker and gooier consistency, add a little chocolate syrup.

Recipe Variations

• Add chocolate syrup to make the fake blood thicker and gooier.
