  • 1/4 CupFried Gram Dal (Putani)
  • 4-5 TablespoonsGhee
  • 1.5 CupsWheat Flour Fried in Little Ghee
  • 1/2 CupWater

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1.Prepare Groundnuts and Fried Gram Dal

Take 1 cup of fried groundnuts (with skin removed) and 1/4 cup of fried gram dal (putani). Grind them coarsely in a mixer jar until the mixture is slightly coarse to the touch.

  2. 2.Melt Jaggery

In a kadai (wok), add 2 cups of jaggery powder and 1/2 cup of water. Heat on a medium flame, stirring continuously until the jaggery melts completely and starts to froth. Once a good froth appears, turn off the gas.

Gradually add the melted jaggery syrup to the dry mixture, mixing continuously with a spatula. Then, add 4-5 tablespoons of melted ghee, mixing until the mixture comes together and is pliable enough to form ladoos. Continue adding jaggery syrup and ghee as needed until the mixture can be easily bound into balls.

  5. 5.Form Ladoos

Take small portions of the prepared mixture and press them firmly between your palms to form round ladoos of your desired size. Ensure they hold their shape well.

  6. 6.Serve
