Sweet Roll - No-Cook 3-Ingredient Dessert

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 3/4 cupDry coconut powder
  • 1/2 cupMilk powder
  • 1/2 cupCondensed milk

For Filling and Decoration

  • as neededChopped dry fruits (pistachios, almonds)
  • a pinchYellow food color
  • optionalSilver work

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1.Prepare the Base Dough

In a bowl, combine 3/4 cup dry coconut powder (if using shredded coconut, grind it once in a mixer) and 1/2 cup milk powder. Mix these two ingredients thoroughly.

  2. 2.Form the Dough

Gradually add condensed milk to the dry ingredients, mixing until a soft, pliable dough forms. Approximately 1/2 cup of condensed milk will be needed. Knead the dough until it comes together smoothly.

  3. 3.Divide and Flavor the Dough

Divide the prepared dough into two parts: one small and one larger. To the smaller part, add chopped dry fruits and mix them in well. To the larger part, add a pinch of yellow food color and mix until the color is evenly distributed.

  4. 4.Roll the Dry Fruit Filling

Place the dry fruit dough on a piece of butter paper. Using your hands, roll it into a long, cylindrical log. Once rolled, wrap it tightly in the butter paper and refrigerate for 5 minutes to set.

  5. 5.Roll the Yellow Dough

Place the yellow dough on a fresh piece of butter paper. Use a rolling pin to roll it out into a thin, rectangular sheet. Aim for a length similar to your dry fruit roll.

  6. 6.Assemble the Sweet Roll

Take the dry fruit roll out of the refrigerator. Carefully unwrap it and place it along one edge of the rolled-out yellow dough. Gently roll the yellow dough around the dry fruit log, ensuring it is completely covered. Press lightly to seal the edges.

  7. 7.Set the Combined Roll

Wrap the combined roll tightly in butter paper and refrigerate for another 5 minutes. This will help both layers adhere and firm up, making it easier to slice.

  8. 8.Decorate and Slice

After 5 minutes, remove the roll from the refrigerator and unwrap it. If desired, apply silver work (chandi ka vark) to the roll for decoration. Using a sharp knife, cut the roll into small, even pieces. You can cut them into square or round shapes as preferred.

  9. 9.Serve

Arrange the sweet rolls on a serving plate and enjoy this quick and delicious festive treat.
