  • 1 tablespoonBicarbonate of Soda (Baking Soda)
  • 3 teaspoonsCitric Acid
  • 1 (85g) boxOrange Jelly Crystals (Jell-O/Jelly)

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1.Sift Dry Ingredients

    Into a small bowl, sift 1/3 cup of icing sugar (also known as powdered sugar or confectioners sugar) and 1 tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) to ensure there are no lumps.

  2. 2.Add Citric Acid

    Add 3 teaspoons of citric acid to the bowl with the sifted ingredients.

  3. 3.Add Jelly Crystals

    Pour in the entire 85g box of orange jelly crystals (Jell-O/jelly) into the bowl.

  4. 4.Mix Thoroughly

    Using a spoon, mix all the ingredients together until they are completely combined and the mixture has a uniform color.

  5. 5.Taste and Adjust

    Take a small taste of the sherbet. If you prefer it sweeter, add a little more icing sugar. If you desire more tanginess, add a little more citric acid, mixing well after each addition.

  6. 6.Serve

    Serve the good old-fashioned sherbet with lollipops, hard candies, or a wet spoon for dipping. Enjoy the sweet, tangy, and fizzy flavor.
