Microwave Idli Maker Unboxing & Soft Idli Recipe

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • as neededIdli Batter
  • 2 to 2.5 glassesWater
  • as needed for greasingOil

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1.Unboxing and Initial Setup

Unbox the Microwave Idli Maker. Wash all components (main container, steamer insert, idli trays, and lid) thoroughly with hot water. Fill the main container with approximately 2 to 2.5 glasses of water, ensuring the water level is below the steamer insert. Grease the cavities of the idli trays with a little oil. Fill each idli mold with prepared idli batter. Stack the filled idli trays inside the steamer insert, then place the insert into the main water container. Cover the idli maker with its lid.

  2. 2.Microwave Steaming

Place the assembled idli maker inside the microwave. Set the microwave timer for 8 minutes. Preheating the microwave is not required for this process.

  3. 3.Post-Steaming Moisture Tip

After 8 minutes, carefully remove the idli maker from the microwave. Let it rest with the lid on for 2 minutes. Then, open the lid, sprinkle a small amount of room temperature water over the hot idlis, and close the lid again for another 2 minutes. This step helps the idlis absorb moisture, making them extra soft and spongy.

  4. 4.Demolding and Serving

After the final resting period, open the lid. Carefully demold the soft and spongy idlis using a spoon. Serve the hot idlis immediately with your favorite chutney and sambar for a fresh breakfast or tiffin.
