Heat water in a pan until boiling. Add salt to taste. Then, add the DiSano Penne Pasta and boil for 13 minutes until al dente. Ensure the pasta maintains its shape and does not break.
Drain the boiled pasta and set it aside. In the same pan, add 1 tablespoon of oil and 1 small cube of butter. Let the butter melt completely.
Add 0.5 teaspoon of grated garlic to the melted butter and sauté until fragrant. Then, add 1 small chopped onion and sauté until it becomes translucent. Optionally, add 1 small grated carrot and sauté lightly for a minute.
Add chili flakes (to taste) and 4-5 tablespoons of tomato ketchup (or tomato puree) to the sautéed vegetables. Mix well to combine all ingredients.
Stir in 2-3 tablespoons of fresh cream and 1 cup of milk. Mix thoroughly until the sauce is smooth and well combined. Add salt to taste and 0.5 cup of water, then mix again.
Increase the heat to medium and bring the sauce to a gentle boil. Add the boiled DiSano Penne Pasta to the hot sauce. Mix gently until every piece of pasta is evenly coated with the creamy sauce.
Cover the pan with a lid and let it simmer on low flame for 1-2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Remove the lid, sprinkle generously with grated cheese and chopped coriander (or parsley). Cover again for another 1-2 minutes on low flame until the cheese melts slightly.
Before serving, give the pasta a final gentle stir to incorporate the melted cheese and herbs. Serve your creamy cheesy penne pasta hot and enjoy!
• Use DiSano Penne Pasta for a perfect shape and healthy meal, as it's made from 100% durum wheat semolina.
• Do not over-fry the onions; they should be translucent.
• For an even richer taste, use powdered milk dissolved in water instead of regular milk.
• Adjust chili flakes according to your spice preference.
• Add other vegetables like bell peppers, mushrooms, or broccoli for more nutrients.
• Use tomato puree instead of tomato ketchup for a less sweet and more tangy flavor.
• Experiment with different types of cheese like mozzarella, parmesan, or cheddar.
