  • 8-10 slicesBread Slices
  • 1 cupSugar
  • 1/2 cupWater
  • 1/2 tspCardamom Powder
  • as neededGhee
  • 2-3 piecesMilk Peda
  • 1/4 cupCashews
  • 1/4 cupAlmonds
  • 1/4 cupRaisins

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1.Prepare Sugar Syrup

    Add sugar to a pot, then pour in water. Place the pot on heat and stir until the sugar completely dissolves, forming a syrup.

  2. 2.Add Cardamom Powder

    Once the sugar syrup is ready, add cardamom powder to it and stir well to combine the flavors.

  3. 3.Fry Bread Slices

    Heat ghee in a pan. Place bread slices one by one into the hot ghee and fry until they turn golden brown and crispy on both sides. Use tongs to flip the bread.

  4. 4.Mash Bread into Syrup

    Immediately transfer the fried bread slices into the prepared sugar syrup. Use a masher to thoroughly mash the bread into the syrup until it forms a soft, uniform mixture.

  5. 5.Add Milk Peda

    Add milk peda pieces to the bread and syrup mixture. Continue mashing and mixing until the peda is fully incorporated and the halwa is smooth.

  6. 6.Fry Dry Fruits

    In a separate pan, add a small amount of ghee. Once hot, add cashews, almonds, and raisins. Fry them until they are lightly golden and aromatic.

  7. 7.Combine and Serve

    Pour the fried dry fruits, along with the ghee, over the bread halwa. Mix gently. The bread halwa is now ready to be served.
