Heat a pan on the stove. Add approximately 2 tablespoons of ghee to the pan and let it melt.
Add 1 cup of wheat flour to the melted ghee. Roast the flour on low heat, stirring continuously, until it turns light golden brown and becomes aromatic. This process ensures the halwa has a rich, nutty flavor.
Once the flour is roasted, add a small piece of solid ghee or butter (approximately 1 tablespoon) to the mixture and mix it in.
Add 1 cup of sugar to the roasted flour mixture. Immediately pour in 2 cups of hot water while continuously stirring vigorously to prevent any lumps from forming. Keep stirring until the sugar dissolves and the mixture starts to combine.
Continue cooking the halwa mixture on low to medium heat, stirring constantly. Cook until the halwa thickens, becomes smooth, and starts to leave the sides of the pan, indicating it's well-cooked.
Once the halwa reaches the desired consistency, add 2 more small spoons (approximately 1 tablespoon) of ghee for extra flavor and shine. Mix well. Then, add half of the chopped almonds to the halwa and mix them in.
Transfer the prepared Aate ka Halwa to a serving bowl. Garnish with the remaining chopped almonds. Serve hot and enjoy!
