Follow each step to make the recipe successfully.
Take 6 slices of bread. Carefully cut off all the brown edges from each bread slice using a knife.
Cut each trimmed bread slice into 2 equal rectangular pieces. You will have 12 small bread pieces in total.
In a small bowl, take 1 bowl of freshly grated coconut. Add condensed milk to the coconut and mix well until a thick, sweet mixture is formed. You can use desiccated coconut if fresh is not available.
Take 4 tablespoons of sugar in a bowl and add some water (approx. 1/4 cup) to it. Mix until the sugar dissolves completely to form a syrup. Divide this sugar syrup equally into 2 separate bowls.
Add a few drops of green food colour to one bowl of sugar syrup and mix. Add a few drops of saffron or orange food colour to the other bowl of sugar syrup and mix.
Dip one bread slice into the green-coloured sugar syrup, ensuring it's fully coated. Place the green bread slice on a plate.
Take another plain bread slice and spread the prepared coconut mixture evenly over it. Gently place this coconut-covered bread slice on top of the green bread slice.
Dip a third bread slice into the saffron-coloured sugar syrup, ensuring it's fully coated. Carefully place this saffron bread slice on top of the coconut layer.
Repeat the entire layering process (green bread, coconut, saffron bread) with the remaining bread slices and ingredients to create more tricolour desserts.
Once all tricolour desserts are assembled, decorate the top saffron layer with a few choco chips. Your tricolour bread dessert is now ready to serve and enjoy!
