Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Combine Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, add 50gm of soaked tapioca seeds, 3-4 chopped green chillies, 1 cup of ground peanuts, 1 smashed potato, 2 teaspoons of cumin seeds, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
Step 2: Mix Thoroughly
Mix all the ingredients together properly until well combined and a dough-like consistency is formed.
Step 3: Shape the Vadas
Take a small portion of the mixture, shape it into a circular ball, and then gently pat it to flatten it into a vada shape.
Step 4: Prepare for Frying
Heat 1 cup of clarified butter (ghee) in a frying pan over medium heat. Ensure the ghee is hot enough before adding the vadas.
Step 5: Shallow Fry Vadas
Carefully place the shaped vadas into the hot ghee. Shallow fry them on both sides until they turn golden brown and crispy, approximately per side.
Step 6: Serve
Once golden brown, remove the Sabudana Vadas from the pan using a slotted spoon to drain excess oil. Serve hot with a side of yogurt or chutney and a cup of tea.
