Crispy Garlic Parmesan Steak Croquette

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 6Dough balls
  • as neededCooked steak and mushroom mixture
  • as neededShredded cheese (e.g., mozzarella, cheddar)
  • 1/2 cupMilk or egg wash
  • 2 cupsPanko breadcrumbs
  • as neededOil for deep frying

Garnish and Serving

  • as neededGrated Parmesan cheese
  • as neededFresh chopped parsley
  • as neededDipping sauce (e.g., ranch, garlic aioli)

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1.Prepare the Croquettes

Take one dough ball and flatten it slightly. Place a generous amount of the cooked steak and mushroom mixture in the center, followed by a sprinkle of shredded cheese. Carefully bring the edges of the dough together to seal the filling inside, forming a smooth ball.

  2. 2.Bread the Croquettes

Prepare two shallow bowls: one with milk (or egg wash) and another with panko breadcrumbs. Dip each filled dough ball first into the milk, ensuring it's fully coated, then transfer it to the panko breadcrumbs. Press gently to ensure the croquette is evenly and thoroughly coated with breadcrumbs.

  3. 3.Deep Fry the Croquettes

Heat oil in a deep pan or pot to approximately 350-375°F (175-190°C). Carefully place the breaded croquettes into the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-5 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown and crispy all over. Use tongs to carefully flip them and remove them from the oil once cooked.

  4. 4.Serve

Place the fried croquettes on a serving plate lined with parchment paper. Garnish generously with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh chopped parsley. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce on the side.
