  • 1 tbspButter
  • 1 tbspOil
  • 1 tspCumin seeds
  • 1 large, slicedOnion
  • 1 tbspGinger-garlic paste
  • 1 medium, choppedTomato
  • 1 medium, choppedCarrot
  • 1/2 medium, choppedBell pepper
  • 1/2 cupGreen peas
  • 1-2, choppedGreen chilies
  • 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  • to tasteSalt
  • 200g, cubedPaneer
  • 1 tspRed chili powder
  • 1 tbspPav Bhaji Masala
  • 2 cupsCooked Basmati rice
  • 2 tbsp, choppedCoriander leaves

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1.Sauté Aromatics

    In a pan, add a cube of butter and a splash of oil. Once melted, add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

  2. 2.Cook Onions and Ginger-Garlic Paste

    Add sliced onions to the pan and sauté until they become translucent. Then, add ginger-garlic paste and mix well until the raw smell disappears.

  3. 3.Add Vegetables

    Add chopped tomatoes, carrots, bell peppers, green peas, and green chilies to the pan. Mix everything together and cook on low flame until the vegetables are tender.

  4. 4.Season Vegetables

    Add turmeric powder and salt to the cooking vegetables. Mix well to combine the spices.

  5. 5.Add Paneer and Spices

    Add cubed paneer to the vegetable mixture and mix gently. Then, add red chili powder and 1 tablespoon of pav bhaji masala. Mix thoroughly until the spices coat the paneer and vegetables, and the raw smell of the spices is gone.

  6. 6.Combine with Rice

    Add the cooked and cooled basmati rice to the pan. Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves over the rice.

  7. 7.Final Mix and Serve

    Gently mix all the ingredients together until the rice is evenly coated with the masala. Serve the Paneer Tawa Pulao hot.
