Follow each step to make the recipe successfully.
With wet hands, gently break any lumps from 3 cups of cooked basmati rice. Set aside.
Separate garlic cloves from the head, peel, and finely chop them.
Heat 2 to 3 tablespoons of light olive oil in a wok or large pan over medium heat. Add 1 1/2 tablespoons (18g) of finely chopped garlic and 1/2 teaspoon of salt (or to taste). Fry the garlic for about or less, stirring continuously. Then, add 1/4 teaspoon of chili flakes. Continue to fry on medium-low to low heat until the garlic turns golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
Add the 3 cups of cooked basmati rice to the wok. Fry on medium to medium-high heat for about or so, tossing and stirring frequently to combine the rice with the garlic and chili flakes.
Remove the pan from heat. Cover the wok with a lid and allow the rice to rest for before serving to let the flavors meld.
