Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken

Place the small chicken on a cutting board. Using a sharp knife, cut along the spine to open and flatten the chicken. Season generously with black pepper and salt on both sides.

Step 2: Marinate the Chicken

Place the seasoned chicken into a baking bag. Slice one onion into rings and add them to the bag. In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of mustard, and Italian seasoning. Mix well and pour over the chicken and onions in the bag. Close the bag and mix thoroughly to ensure the chicken is evenly coated.

Step 3: Prepare for Air Frying (First Round)

Lay out a piece of parchment paper, then a piece of aluminum foil. Place the chicken on the parchment paper. Add more onion rings and the halved fresh garlic head around and inside the chicken. Garnish with fresh thyme. Wrap the chicken tightly in parchment paper, then in aluminum foil.

Step 4: Air Fry Chicken (First Round)

Place the wrapped chicken in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 392°F (≈200°C) (approximately 200°C) (200°C (≈390°F) (approximately 390°F)) for .

Step 5: Prepare the Vegetables

While the chicken is cooking, slice half a head of cabbage into thick rounds. Drizzle with olive oil, then season with salt and black pepper. Slice the red bell pepper and corn cob into pieces. In a bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon of French seasoning, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper. Pour this marinade over the bell pepper and corn, mixing well.

Step 6: Add Vegetables and Continue Air Frying

Carefully remove the chicken from the air fryer and unwrap it. Place the seasoned cabbage slices in the air fryer basket, then place the chicken on top of the cabbage. Add the bell pepper and corn around the chicken. Return the basket to the air fryer. Air fry at 356°F (≈180°C) (approximately 180°C) (180°C (≈355°F) (approximately 355°F)) for .

Step 7: Prepare the Cheesy Egg Bun

Take a bun, cut it open lengthwise, and hollow out some of the bread. Drizzle olive oil inside the bun. Grate 50g (2 oz) of cheese and sprinkle it inside the bun. Crack one egg into the bun, then add more grated cheese on top.

Step 8: Air Fry the Cheesy Egg Bun

Place the prepared bun in the second air fryer basket. Air fry at 320°F (≈160°C) (approximately 160°C) (160°C (≈320°F) (approximately 320°F)) for .

Step 9: Prepare the Chicken Glaze

In a small bowl, combine 1 teaspoon of ketchup, 1/2 teaspoon of smoked paprika, 1 teaspoon of honey, and one grated fresh garlic clove. Mix well until smooth.

Step 10: Glaze and Finish Air Frying

Remove the chicken and vegetables from the air fryer. Brush the chicken generously with the prepared glaze. Return the chicken and vegetables to the air fryer. Air fry at 356°F (≈180°C) (approximately 180°C) (180°C (≈355°F) (approximately 355°F)) for an additional to the glaze.

Step 11: Serve

Carefully transfer the beautifully cooked chicken and vegetables to a serving plate. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot with the cheesy egg bun on the side. Enjoy your delicious and tender air-fried chicken!
