  • 1 cupFlattened Rice
  • 1/4 cupCashew Nuts
  • 1 tbspSugar
  • 5-6 piecesRed Chillies
  • A handfulCurry Leaves
  • 1/2 tspSalt
  • 1/4 tspTurmeric Powder
  • 2 tbspRaisins (Kismis)
  • 1-2 tbspSplit Chickpeas (Chana Dal)
  • 2-3 tbspOil

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1.Heat Oil

    Light the stove and place a pan. Pour 2-3 tablespoons of oil into the pan and let it heat up.

  2. 2.Fry Red Chillies

    Add 5-6 red chillies to the hot oil and fry for approximately 5-10 seconds until fragrant.

  3. 3.Add Curry Leaves

    Add a handful of curry leaves to the pan and fry for about 10-15 seconds until they become crisp.

  4. 4.Add Split Chickpeas

    Add 1-2 tablespoons of split chickpeas (chana dal) to the pan and fry for approximately 10-15 seconds until they turn light golden brown.

  5. 5.Add Cashew Nuts

    Add 1/4 cup of cashew nuts to the pan and fry for about 10-15 seconds until they achieve a light golden color.

  6. 6.Add Raisins

    Add 2 tablespoons of raisins (kismis) to the pan and fry for approximately 5-10 seconds until they puff up.

  7. 7.Add Flattened Rice

    Pour 1 cup of flattened rice into the pan and mix thoroughly with the fried ingredients for about 30-40 seconds, ensuring everything is well combined.

  8. 8.Add Turmeric Powder

    Sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder over the mixture and mix well for 10-15 seconds until the flattened rice is evenly coated.

  9. 9.Add Salt

    Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt to taste and mix thoroughly for about 10-15 seconds.

  10. 10.Add Sugar

    Add 1 tablespoon of sugar to the mixture and mix for about 10-15 seconds until it is well incorporated.

  11. 11.Serve Chuda Fry

    Once all ingredients are mixed and heated through, transfer the Chuda Fry to a serving bowl. It is now ready to be enjoyed as a tea-time snack.
