Chicken Tikka Kabab

Ingredients

For Marinating Chicken

  • 400gBoneless Chicken
  • 1/3 CupYogurt
  • 1/2 tspTikka Masala
  • 1 tspTandoori Masala
  • 1/3 tspCumin Powder
  • 1/3 tspCoriander Powder
  • 1/2 tspKashmiri Red Chilli
  • from 1/2 lemonLemon Juice

For Kebab Mixture

  • 2 mediumBoiled Potatoes
  • 1/4 cup, choppedFresh Coriander
  • 1 medium, finely choppedOnion
  • 2-3, choppedGreen Chilies
  • 1 tspChilli Flakes
  • 1/2 tspCumin Powder

For Frying

  • 1Egg
  • for shallow fryingOil

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1.Marinate the Chicken

    In a bowl, combine 400g boneless chicken with 1/3 cup yogurt, 1/2 tsp Tikka Masala, 1 tsp Tandoori Masala, 1/3 tsp Cumin Powder, 1/3 tsp Coriander Powder, 1/2 tsp Kashmiri Red Chilli, and the juice of half a lemon. Mix well to coat the chicken.

  2. 2.Cook the Chicken

    Heat a pan with a little oil. Add the marinated chicken and cook, covered, until the chicken is tender and cooked through, and the liquids have evaporated.

  3. 3.Prepare the Kebab Mixture

    In a large bowl, add the cooked chicken, 2 medium boiled and cubed potatoes, 1/4 cup fresh chopped coriander, 1 finely chopped medium onion, 2-3 chopped green chilies, 1 tsp chili flakes, and 1/2 tsp cumin powder.

  4. 4.Mix and Mash

    Use your hands to thoroughly mix and mash all the ingredients together until well combined and the potatoes are mostly mashed, forming a cohesive mixture.

  5. 5.Form the Kebabs

    Take a portion of the mixture and shape it into a round, flat patty or kebab. Repeat for the remaining mixture.

  6. 6.Dip in Egg

    Whisk one egg in a shallow bowl. Dip each kebab into the whisked egg, ensuring it's fully coated.

  7. 7.Shallow Fry the Kebabs

    Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Carefully place the egg-coated kebabs into the hot oil and shallow fry until golden brown and crispy on both sides.

  8. 8.Serve

    Serve the hot chicken tikka kebabs garnished with fresh coriander, lemon slices, and onion rings, accompanied by a green chutney.
