Banana Dessert (Kele ki Dessert)

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2Overripe Bananas
  • 1 tbspGhee
  • 1 tbspCustard Powder (Vanilla flavor)
  • 1/2 cupMilk (normal temperature, for custard mix)
  • 2 cupsMilk (for cooking)
  • 1/4 cupSugar
  • 1/4 cupMakhana (Fox nuts), chopped
  • 2 tbspAlmonds, sliced
  • 1/2 tspCardamom Powder

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1.Prepare Bananas

Peel the two overripe bananas and mash them thoroughly with a fork on a plate until they form a coarse paste.

  2. 2.Prepare Custard Mixture

In a small bowl, take 1 tablespoon of vanilla-flavored custard powder. Add approximately 1/2 cup of normal temperature milk and mix well with a spoon until there are no lumps and a smooth paste is formed.

  3. 3.Sauté Bananas

Heat a pan on the stove and add 1 tablespoon of ghee. Spread the ghee evenly across the pan. Once the ghee is melted, add the mashed bananas to the pan and sauté them for 2-3 minutes, stirring continuously, until they are slightly cooked and fragrant.

  4. 4.Add Milk

Gradually add 2 cups of milk to the sautéed bananas in two batches. Add the first cup, stir until well combined and slightly thickened, then add the second cup and continue stirring. Allow the mixture to come to a gentle boil and thicken slightly.

  5. 5.Incorporate Custard

Slowly pour the prepared custard mixture into the pan while continuously stirring the banana and milk mixture. Keep stirring until the dessert thickens to your desired consistency.

  6. 6.Add Sweetener and Dry Fruits

Add 1/4 cup of sugar (or to taste) and stir until it dissolves completely. Then, add the chopped makhana and sliced almonds to the dessert. Mix well.

  7. 7.Finish with Cardamom

Stir in 1/2 teaspoon of cardamom powder for enhanced flavor. Continue to stir for another minute. Once the dessert reaches a thick, creamy consistency, turn off the gas flame.

  8. 8.Serve and Garnish

Transfer the hot banana dessert into a serving bowl. Garnish with additional sliced almonds before serving. This delicious and healthy dessert can be enjoyed warm or chilled.
