1-Minute Microwave Gyeran-jjim with Spinach

  • 2 largeEggs
  • 3-4 tablespoonsWater
  • 1 drop (approx. 1/8 teaspoon)Sesame Oil
  • 1 teaspoonBaby Soy Sauce
  • a handfulSpinach

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1.Prepare the eggs

    Crack 2 eggs into a heat/microwave-safe bowl.

  2. 2.Add water

    Pour 3-4 tablespoons of water into the bowl with the eggs.

  3. 3.Whisk eggs and water

    Use chopsticks or a fork to whisk the eggs and water together until well combined.

  4. 4.Add seasonings (optional)

    Add 1 drop of sesame oil and 1 teaspoon of baby soy sauce to the egg mixture. This step is optional and can be adjusted based on taste and age.

  5. 5.Whisk again

    Whisk the mixture again to incorporate the seasonings.

  6. 6.Add spinach

    Roughly chop a handful of spinach and add it to the egg mixture.

  7. 7.Combine ingredients

    Whisk the spinach into the egg mixture until evenly distributed.

  8. 8.Microwave

    Place the uncovered bowl into the microwave and cook for 2 minutes (1 minute per egg).

  9. 9.Serve

    Carefully remove the hot bowl from the microwave. Use a spoon to loosen the steamed egg from the sides and transfer it to a serving bowl. Allow to cool slightly before serving, especially to children.
