Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Spinach

Cut off the stems from the spinach. Wash the spinach thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt. Then, place the spinach in a container with water and a splash of vinegar and let it soak for to ensure it's clean.

Step 2: Blend Ingredients

Place the cleaned spinach into a blender. Add 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of nutritional yeast (optional), 1 clove of garlic, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and 1 egg. Blend all ingredients until you get a smooth, green mixture.

Step 3: Combine with Breadcrumbs

Pour the blended spinach mixture into a bowl, making sure to scrape out all the mixture from the blender. Add 1 cup of breadcrumbs to the bowl. Mix well with a spatula until all ingredients are thoroughly combined and form a cohesive dough.

Step 4: Form Patties

Using your hands, take portions of the dough and shape them into round, flat patties. Ensure they are firm and hold their shape.

Step 5: Cook the Patties

Heat a pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with oil. Place the spinach patties in the pan. Cook for approximately on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.

Step 6: Serve

Once cooked, remove the patties from the pan and serve immediately. They are delicious with rice or any other side dish.

Pro Tips

• These patties are great with rice, but they pair well with any side dish.
