Spicy Garlic Masala Corn

Ingredients

  • 2Corn Cobs
  • 1 tspSalt

For Masala Sauce

  • 1 tbspButter
  • 1 tbspGarlic, minced
  • 2 tbspSchezwan Chutney
  • 1 tspChili Flakes
  • 1 tspOregano
  • 1/2 tspBlack Pepper
  • 1 tspRed Chili Powder
  • 1/2 tspSalt
  • 1/4 cupWater

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1.Prepare the Corn

    Peel the corn cobs and cut them into 8 equal pieces.

  2. 2.Boil the Corn

    In a pan, add water and 1 teaspoon of salt. Bring the water to a boil. Carefully add the corn pieces, cover the pan, and boil for 10 minutes until tender.

  3. 3.Drain the Corn

    Once boiled, remove the corn pieces from the water using tongs and set them aside.

  4. 4.Prepare the Sauce Base

    In a separate pan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

  5. 5.Add Spices and Chutney

    Add 2 tablespoons of Schezwan chutney, 1 teaspoon of chili flakes, 1 teaspoon of oregano, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of red chili powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the pan. Mix all the ingredients well.

  6. 6.Simmer the Sauce

    Pour in 1/4 cup of water and stir continuously until the sauce is well combined and slightly thickened.

  7. 7.Coat the Corn

    Add the boiled corn pieces to the simmering sauce. Toss them thoroughly to ensure each piece is evenly coated with the spicy garlic masala.

  8. 8.Serve Hot

    Serve the spicy garlic masala corn hot. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
