  • 1 tablespoonVegetable Oil
  • 1/4 cup, finely choppedRed Onion
  • 1 teaspoonBasil
  • 1/2 teaspoonNutmeg
  • 1 teaspoonGarlic Pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoonSage
  • to tasteSalt

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1.Prepare the Spinach and Oil

    Place the fresh spinach in a large pot or deep pan over medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over the spinach.

  2. 2.Add Onions

    Add the finely chopped red onion (or white onion) to the pot with the spinach.

  3. 3.Season the Spinach

    Season the spinach mixture with 1 teaspoon of basil, 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg, 1 teaspoon of garlic pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon of sage. Add salt to taste.

  4. 4.Sauté Until Wilted

    Cook the spinach on medium heat, stirring occasionally with a wooden spatula, for about 5-7 minutes. Continue cooking until all the spinach leaves are thoroughly wilted and have released their own liquid. No additional water is needed for this process.

  5. 5.Serve

    Once cooked, serve the delicious sautéed spinach hot as a healthy and flavorful side dish.
