  3. Green Chillies (slit) 2-3
  4. Dry Red Chillies 3-4
  5. Onion (sliced) 1 large
  6. Capsicum (sliced) 1 medium
  7. Crushed Garlic 1 tbsp
  8. Crushed Ginger 1 tbsp
  9. Black Pepper Powder 1-2 tsp
  10. Cumin Powder 1 tsp
  11. Salt 1/2 tsp
  12. Coriander Leaves (chopped, for garnish) 2 tbsp

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Prepare Prawns for Marination

Take 10-15 cleaned and deveined prawns/shrimps in a bowl.

Step 2: Marinate the Prawns

the prawns by applying 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Mix well to coat all prawns evenly.

Step 3: Rest Marinated Prawns

Keep the prawns aside for .

Step 4: Heat Oil

Heat a frying pan and add 2-3 tablespoons of cooking oil.

Step 5: Add Curry Leaves

Once the oil is hot, add 1 sprig of curry leaves.

Step 6: Add Chillies and Sauté

Add 2-3 slit green chillies and 3-4 dry red chillies. Fry for half a minute until fragrant.

Step 7: Sauté Onions

Add 1 large sliced onion and until it turns pinkish and translucent.

Step 8: Add Capsicum

Add 1 medium sliced capsicum and mix well. Cook until the capsicum is slightly tender.

Step 9: Add Ginger and Garlic

After the capsicum is slightly cooked, add 1 tablespoon of crushed garlic and 1 tablespoon of crushed ginger. Mix well and until the raw aroma of ginger and garlic disappears.

Step 10: Add Marinated Prawns

Add the prawns to the pan and mix thoroughly with the vegetables and spices.

Step 11: Add Spices and Cook

After the prawns are slightly cooked and have changed color, add 1-2 teaspoons of black pepper powder and 1 teaspoon of cumin powder. Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt (or to taste). Mix all ingredients well and cook for another until the prawns are fully cooked and the spices are well combined.

Step 12: Garnish

Garnish with 2 tablespoons of chopped coriander leaves.

Step 13: Serve

Delicious Prawns Pepper Fry is ready to serve.
