Take 10-15 cleaned and deveined prawns/shrimps in a bowl.
Marinate the prawns by applying 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Mix well to coat all prawns evenly.
Keep the marinated prawns aside for 15 minutes.
Heat a frying pan and add 2-3 tablespoons of cooking oil.
Once the oil is hot, add 1 sprig of curry leaves.
Add 2-3 slit green chillies and 3-4 dry red chillies. Fry for half a minute until fragrant.
Add 1 large sliced onion and sauté until it turns pinkish and translucent.
Add 1 medium sliced capsicum and mix well. Cook until the capsicum is slightly tender.
After the capsicum is slightly cooked, add 1 tablespoon of crushed garlic and 1 tablespoon of crushed ginger. Mix well and sauté until the raw aroma of ginger and garlic disappears.
Add the marinated prawns to the pan and mix thoroughly with the vegetables and spices.
After the prawns are slightly cooked and have changed color, add 1-2 teaspoons of black pepper powder and 1 teaspoon of cumin powder. Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt (or to taste). Mix all ingredients well and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the prawns are fully cooked and the spices are well combined.
Garnish with 2 tablespoons of chopped coriander leaves.
Delicious Prawns Pepper Fry is ready to serve.
