Follow each step to make the recipe successfully.
Add arvi (taro root) to a pressure cooker. Add enough water to cover the arvi and 1 teaspoon of salt. Close the lid and cook for 3 whistles.
Once the pressure is released, open the cooker, drain the water, and let the arvi cool slightly. Peel the skin off the cooked arvi and cut them in half.
In a clean pressure cooker, add the mutton, sliced onions, red chili powder, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon of salt, green chili paste, and oil. Mix all ingredients well. Add enough water to cover the mutton. Close the lid and cook for (or until mutton is tender, typically 3-4 whistles).
Once the mutton is cooked and the pressure is released, open the cooker. Stir the mutton mixture. Add the chopped tomatoes and fresh coriander leaves. Stir well to combine.
Add the peeled and cut arvi to the mutton curry. Gently stir to mix. Close the pressure cooker lid again and cook for 1 more whistle to allow the flavors to meld.
Once the final whistle is done and pressure is released, open the cooker. Serve the hot Mutton Arvi Curry with rice.
