For the Sauce Additions

  • 1/2 (finely chopped)Tomato

  • 1 whole (finely chopped)Garlic
  • 1/4 cupVinegar
  • 1 (finely chopped)Green chillies

For Serving

  • as neededKolli (fried potato sticks)
  • as neededLotta (small fried balls)

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1.Prepare the Sauce Base

    In a clear bowl, add 1 cup of squeezed tamarind water. Then, add 2 tablespoons of sugar, salt to taste, 2 tablespoons of red chilli powder, and 1/4 cup of tomato sauce. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until well combined and smooth.

  2. 2.Add Fresh Ingredients to the Sauce

    To the prepared sauce, add 1/2 finely chopped tomato, a handful of coriander leaves, a few curry leaves, 1 whole finely chopped garlic, 1/4 cup of vinegar, and 1 finely chopped green chilli. Mix everything together well to incorporate all the fresh ingredients into the sauce.

  3. 3.Combine Sauce with Snacks

    Take two separate bowls. Fill one bowl with Kolli (fried potato sticks) and the other with Lotta (small fried balls). Pour a generous amount of the prepared tangy and spicy sauce over both the Kolli and Lotta snacks. Mix each bowl well to ensure the snacks are fully coated with the sauce. Serve immediately.
