Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow each step to make the recipe successfully.

  1. Cook the Berries

Place half a bag (32 oz) of Kirkland Three Berry Blend into a pot. Cook the berries on low heat, allowing them to and cook down until they start to disintegrate and form a sauce. Turn off the heat once cooked.

  2. Blend the Berries

Use a Cuisinart hand blender to blend the cooked berries directly in the pot until the mixture is very smooth. Be careful as the mixture is hot.

  3. Add Chia Seeds

Add 5 tablespoons of organic black chia seeds to the blended berry mixture. Stir well to combine. Add 2 more tablespoons of chia seeds and mix again. The chia seeds will expand and thicken the jam.

  4. Add Flavorings

Add one capful of vanilla extract and squeeze the juice from half a lemon into the jam. Stir to incorporate these flavors.

  5. Sweeten with Maple Syrup

Add 4 tablespoons of Kirkland organic maple syrup to the jam. Stir thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined. Taste and adjust sweetness if desired.

  6. Cool and Store

Let the jam cool down for a few minutes. The chia seeds will continue to absorb liquid and thicken the jam to a perfect consistency. Transfer the jam into three glass containers. Store one container in the refrigerator and freeze the others for later use.

  7. Serve for Breakfast

The next morning, spread the homemade berry jam generously over a slice of Ezekiel flourless bread with almond butter. Serve with a side of Munster cheese and a cup of coffee for a quick and healthy breakfast.
