Follow each step to make the recipe successfully.
Take one dough ball and flatten it slightly. Place a generous amount of the cooked steak and mushroom mixture in the center, followed by a sprinkle of shredded cheese. Carefully bring the edges of the dough together to seal the filling inside, forming a smooth ball.
Prepare two shallow bowls: one with milk (or egg wash) and another with panko breadcrumbs. Dip each filled dough ball first into the milk, ensuring it's fully coated, then transfer it to the panko breadcrumbs. Press gently to ensure the croquette is evenly and thoroughly coated with breadcrumbs.
Heat oil in a deep pan or pot to approximately 350-375°F (approximately 175°C) (175-190°C (approximately 345°F)). Carefully place the breaded croquettes into the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about per side, or until they are golden brown and crispy all over. Use tongs to carefully flip them and remove them from the oil once cooked.
Place the fried croquettes on a serving plate lined with parchment paper. Garnish generously with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh chopped parsley. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce on the side.
