  • 1 gmJapatri (Mace)
  • 1 gmJajikaya (Nutmeg)
  • 1 gmBiryani Puvvu (Star Anise)
  • 1 tspRathi Puvvu (Blackstone Flower/Bujju Puvvu/Dagad Phool)
  • 1 gmDalchini Chakka (Cinnamon)

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1.Add Shah Jeera

    To a blender jar, add 1 gram of Shah Jeera (Royal Cumin).

  2. 2.Add Fennel Seeds

    Add 1 gram of Saunf (Fennel Seeds) to the blender jar.

  3. 3.Add Cardamom

    Add 1 gram of Elaichi (Cardamom) to the blender jar.

  4. 4.Add Cloves

    Add 1 gram of Lavangalu (Cloves) to the blender jar.

  5. 5.Add Mace

    Add 1 gram of Japatri (Mace) to the blender jar.

  6. 6.Add Nutmeg

    Add 1 gram of Jajikaya (Nutmeg) to the blender jar.

  7. 7.Add Star Anise

    Add 1 gram of Biryani Puvvu (Star Anise) to the blender jar.

  8. 8.Add Blackstone Flower

    Add 1 teaspoon of Rathi Puvvu (Blackstone Flower/Bujju Puvvu/Dagad Phool) to the blender jar.

  9. 9.Add Cinnamon

    Add 1 gram of Dalchini Chakka (Cinnamon) to the blender jar.

  10. 10.Grind Spices

    Grind all the ingredients in the blender to a fine powder. Note that Blackstone Flower may not grind as finely, which is acceptable.

  11. 11.Usage Instructions

    For 1 pound of Gongura Chicken Biryani, add about 1 1/2 teaspoons of this powder. For Paneer, Egg, Ulavacharu Biryanis, or any other dish that calls for garam masala, taste and add the powder as needed to achieve your desired flavor.
