Valentine's Day Mug Cake - Red Velvet Style

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoonsAll-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoonsUnsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 tablespoonsGranulated sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoonBaking powder
  • PinchSalt

Wet Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoonsMilk
  • 2 tablespoonsVegetable oil (or melted butter)
  • 1/4 teaspoonVanilla extract
  • A few drops (optional)Red food coloring

Gooey Center

  • 1 tablespoonRaspberry or strawberry jam
  • A fewWhite chocolate chips (or a small piece of chocolate)

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1.Combine Dry Ingredients

    In a microwave-safe mug, mix together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, granulated sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.

  2. 2.Add Wet Ingredients

    To the dry ingredients in the mug, add the milk, vegetable oil (or melted butter), and vanilla extract.

  3. 3.Add Food Coloring (Optional)

    If making a red velvet cake, add a few drops of red food coloring to the mixture. This step can be skipped for a chocolate mug cake.

  4. 4.Mix Well

    Stir all the ingredients in the mug until the batter is smooth and well combined.

    Spoon 1 tablespoon of raspberry or strawberry jam into the center of the batter.
