Follow each step to make the recipe successfully.
Add 1 cup (125 grams) of wheat flour to a wooden bowl.
Gradually add water to the flour and mix with your hands until a shaggy dough forms.
Continue the dough in the bowl, adding small amounts of water if necessary, until it starts to come together and form a cohesive mass.
Pour 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the dough.
the dough with the olive oil until it becomes smooth, elastic, and non-sticky. Form it into a uniform ball.
Lightly dust a silicone mat or work surface with wheat flour. Roll the dough into a log shape, then cut it into 6 equal pieces using a dough cutter.
Take one piece of dough, shape it into a smooth ball, flatten it slightly with your hands, and dust it with wheat flour.
Place the floured dough on the mat and use a rolling pin to roll it into an even, thin, flat circle. Apply pressure on the edges to ensure even thickness. The final flatbread should be evenly flat.
Heat a tawa (flat pan) over medium-high heat until it is hot.
Place the rolled flatbread onto the hot tawa. Cook until small bubbles appear on the surface, then flip it over.
Use a clean cloth to gently press the edges of the flatbread. Apply soft pressure, focusing on the edges only, to help it puff up.
Continue pressing and flipping until the flatbread is fully puffed and has light brown spots on both sides. Remove the cooked flatbread from the tawa and stack it. Optionally, apply a small amount of butter to the hot flatbreads.
