Follow each step to make the recipe successfully.
Place the beef into a pressure cooker.
Add 1 tsp of salt, 2 tbsp of crushed ginger and garlic, 2 tsp of coriander powder, 2 tsp of Kashmiri chili powder, 0.5 tsp of turmeric powder, 1 tsp of garam masala, and 1 tsp of pepper powder to the beef. Mix well until the beef pieces are thoroughly coated with the spices. Add approximately 1/4 cup of water.
Mix the beef and spices again. Close the pressure cooker and cook on medium heat for 3 to 5 whistles, or until the beef is tender.
Heat a separate pan and add 2 tbsp of coconut oil. Once hot, add 1/4 cup of coconut slices and 1 sprig of curry leaves. for about until the coconut slices start to change color.
Add 1/2 cup of chopped small onions to the pan and mix well. Continue until the onions become translucent and slightly browned. Then, add 1 tbsp of crushed ginger and garlic and mix thoroughly.
Carefully transfer the cooked beef from the pressure cooker into the pan with the ingredients. Mix everything together well.
Add an additional 1 tsp of coriander powder, 1 tsp of Kashmiri chili powder, 0.5 tsp of pepper powder, and 0.5 tsp of garam masala to the beef mixture. Mix well, ensuring all the beef pieces are coated with the new spices.
Add 1 medium sliced onion as a finishing touch for an authentic taste. Mix it into the beef fry. Cover the pan for approximately to allow the flavors to meld.
Uncover the pan, give it a final stir, and taste to adjust seasoning if needed. Your delicious Kerala-style beef fry is ready to be served. Enjoy!
