  • 3-4 tbspSugar
  • 2 tbspChopped Nuts (Almonds, Pistachios)

For Assembly

  • 8White Bread Slices

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1.Prepare Cornflour Mixture

In a bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of cornflour, 1/2 cup of cold milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence. Mix thoroughly until no lumps remain. Set this mixture aside.

  2. 2.Prepare Cream Mixture

In a separate bowl, add 1 cup of fresh cream and 2-3 tablespoons of powdered sugar. Whisk the mixture for 4-5 minutes until it becomes fluffy and slightly risen. Place it in the refrigerator to chill.

  3. 3.Boil Milk

Pour 2 cups (0.5 liters) of full-cream milk into a pan. Place the pan on medium-high heat and stir the milk until it comes to a boil.

  4. 4.Add Sugar to Milk

Once the milk boils, reduce the heat to low. Add 3-4 tablespoons of sugar (adjust to your taste preference) and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Continue to cook on low heat for 30-60 seconds.

  5. 5.Thicken Milk with Cornflour

Stir the prepared cornflour mixture once more. Slowly pour it into the boiling milk while continuously stirring to prevent any lumps from forming. Cook on low heat for 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens to a flowing consistency.

  6. 6.Add Nuts to Milk Mixture

Add 2 tablespoons of chopped nuts (almonds and pistachios) to the thickened milk mixture. Stir well to combine. Turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly.

  7. 7.Prepare Bread Slices

Take 8 white bread slices. Using a knife, carefully cut off all the brown edges from each slice. The video suggests saving the edges for breadcrumbs.

  8. 8.Assemble First Layer

Pour a thin layer of the slightly cooled milk-cornflour mixture (custard) into the bottom of a glass dish. Arrange 4 of the prepared bread slices over this custard layer, ensuring they cover the base.

  9. 9.Assemble Second Layer

Pour half of the remaining custard evenly over the bread slices. Then, drizzle some of the chilled whipped cream mixture over the custard layer.

  10. 10.Assemble Third Layer

Arrange the remaining 4 bread slices over the cream layer. Pour the rest of the custard over these bread slices, making sure they are fully covered.

  11. 11.Final Layer and Garnish

Spread the remaining whipped cream evenly over the top custard layer. Gently shake the dish to level the surface. Garnish generously with chopped nuts (almonds and pistachios).

  12. 12.Chill and Serve

Place the assembled pudding in the refrigerator and chill for at least 2-3 hours, or until it is well set. Once chilled, cut the pudding into desired portions and serve.
