Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1.Prepare the Bread

    Take two slices of sandwich bread and use a spoon to gently press down the middle part of each slice, creating a shallow well.

  2. 2.Butter the Wells

    Spread soft butter evenly into the pressed-down middle part of both bread slices.

  3. 3.Add Eggs and Seasoning

    Carefully crack one egg into the buttered well of each bread slice. Season each egg with salt and black pepper to taste.

  4. 4.Initial Air Frying

    Place the prepared bread slices with eggs into the air fryer basket. Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 8 minutes.

  5. 5.Add Cheese and Finish Air Frying

    After 8 minutes, open the air fryer. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese generously over each egg and toast. Close the air fryer and continue air frying for an additional 2 minutes at 380°F (190°C), or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  6. 6.Serve

    Carefully remove the air-fried cheesy egg on toast from the air fryer. Serve immediately, optionally with a side of fresh greens and tomatoes.

  7. 7.Check Doneness

    Cut into the toast to reveal the perfectly over-well egg yolk. Adjust air fry time in future batches if you prefer an easier or medium yolk.
