Servings: 6 Preparation time:
  • Peas, Green, Raw, 2 cups peas (boiled)
  • Carrots, Baby, Raw, 1 large carrot (chopped and boiled)
  • Tomato Sauce, 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • Yogurt, Plain, Low Fat, Curd, yoghurt 1/4 cup curd
  • Whipped Cream, Fresh Cream 1/4 cup cream
  • Butter, 3 tbsp. butter
  • Lemons, Raw, With Peel, Lime, Lemon 1 (small sweet) lime
  • Apples, 1 (small) apple
  • Bananas, Raw, Raw Banana 1 banana
  • Pineapple, Raw, Pineapple 2 slices pineapple
  • Cashew Nuts Raw, Kaju, Cashewnuts 10-15 cashewnuts
  • Raisins, Seedless, Raisins 20 raisins
  • Glace Cherries, Glaced Cherry 2 glaced cherries for decoration
  • Coriander Leaf Corriander, Cilantro Leaves, Green, Leaves, Parsley Leaves, Coriander 1 tbsp. coriander chopped
  • Ghee, 1 tbsp. ghee
  • Salt, Common Salt, Rock Salt, Table Salt salt to taste
  • Dry Masala:
  • Cumin Seed, Shahi Jeera, Nitu Didi cumin seed 1 tsp. cumin seeds
  • Poppyseed Oil, Poppy Seed Oil 2 tsp. (khuskhus) poppyseeds
  • Cardamom Powder, Cardamom Pd, Choti Elaichi, Cardamom, Cardamon, Elachi 1 tsp. cardamoms
  • Wet Masala:
  • Onions, Raw, Onion 1 large onion
  • Coconut , Raw, Fresh 1/4 cup coconut shredded
  • Green Chillies, Chilies, Hot Chili, Green, Raw, Chilli, Chilly 3 green chillies

Instructions (Preparation Steps):

  • Grind the dry and wet masalas separately.
  • Chop all the fruit fine. Heat ghee and fry cashews, drain and keep aside.
  • Add butter to ghee and heat, add the wet masala and fry for 2 minutes.
  • Add the dry masala and salt and fry 2 more minutes.
  • Add the carrots and peas, mix together curd and cream and add to gravy.
  • Allow to thicken a bit, add fruit, cashews and raisins and boil till the gravy is thick and the fat separates.
  • Garnish with grated cheese ,coriander and chopped cherries.
  • Serve hot with naan, roti or paratha.
  • Shelf life: Best fresh

Cook's Tip:
When you are cooking in butter, to avoid it from burning always add oiil little to it.
To set yogurt in winter, place the container in a warm place like oven or over the voltage stabliser.
Add cardamom peels to the tea canister, instead of throwing them away. It will lend a very subtle flavour of cardamom to every cup of tea you brew!
