Ingredients:
  • 1/2 kg nengelumbu
  • Pigeon Peas, Raw, Tuvar, Toor Dhal, Toor Dal, Red gram dhal 1/4 kg toor dal
  • Green Chillies, Chilies, Hot Chili, Green, Raw, Chilli, Chilly 10 green chillies
  • Cloves, Ground, Clove, Lavang 4-5 cloves
  • Cumin Seed, Shahi Jeera, Nitu Didi cumin seed 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • Onions, Raw, Onion 2 onion sliced
  • Salt, Common Salt, Rock Salt, Table Salt salt to taste

Instructions (Preparation Steps):

  • Clean and wash the bones
  • Wash and soak the dal for 1/2 hour
  • Cook the bones with the dal in a pressure cooker (with enough water)
  • Mix all other items with the cooked bones
  • Boil for sometime till every thing mixes well

Cook's Tip:
Mash about six garlic cloves into ½ cup butter, add chopped chives or parsley. Form into logs, wrap in plastic and freeze. Slice as needed to melt into meats, vegetables or use as a spread

Always warm dry spices like cumin seeds, cardamom, cloves, etc. on a griddle before powdering. They will grind faster and the powder will be finer.
