Maaquoda is an Algerian potato patti. Flavored with minimum spices, it is served as an appetizer.


Servings: 6 Preparation time:
  • Potato, Flesh And Skin, Raw, aloo 250 gm potato (boiled)
  • Onions, Raw, Onion 2 (stalks of green) onion (chopped)
  • Garlic, Raw, Garlic flakes, Lahsun, grated garlic, Garlic pods 5 (cloves of .chopped) garlic
  • Coriander Leaf Corriander, Cilantro Leaves, Green, Leaves, Parsley Leaves, Coriander 2 tbsp coriander leaves( chopped)
  • Green Chillies, Chilies, Hot Chili, Green, Raw, Chilli, Chilly 3 green chili (chopped)
  • Salt, Common Salt, Rock Salt, Table Salt 1 tsp salt
  • Kali Mirch Black Peppercorn, Milagu,kurumulaku, peppers 1/2 tsp (crushed) black pepper
  • Red Chili Powder, Paprika, Deggi Mirch, Red Chilli Powder, Red Chilly, Red Ch 1/4 tsp red chili powder
  • Egg, Whole, Raw, Anda 1 (small size) egg
  • Bread Crumbs, Breadcrumbs 2 tbsp bread (crumb)

  • Plain Flour, Maida, Refined flour Plain flour (to cover the patties)
  • Canola Oil, Vegetable Oil, Cooking oil (for deep frying)

Instructions (Preparation Steps):

  • Mash the boiled potatoes & mix with all the given ingredients in (I)
  • Make patties about 1 & 1/2 inch.
  • Dust the flour on the patties to cover all the side
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Deep fry the patties till golden brown.
  • Remove & serve hot with ketchup.

Cook's Tip:
Prevent egg smell in cakes- To get rid of the smell of eggs in the cakes, add one tablespoon honey to the cake batter while beating it.
A handful of salt added to the rinsing water for glass and crockery will not only make them cleaner but sparkling clear.
Avoid the use of ghee. If it is necessary, substitute it with canola oil. Even for making halwa, you can partly substitute it with oil.
