Ingredients:
  • Apricots, Raw, Apricot 300 gms apricots (dried)
  • Lemon Juice, Raw, Lime Juice, Lemon Juice 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Brown Sugar, 150 gms sugar
  • Almonds, Badam ¼ cup almonds (blanched and roasted)
  • Water Boiled Plain Raw Mineral, Cold, Mix, sparkling water, Carbonated water Water as required
Cook's Tip:
Freshen vacuum cleaner bag by adding baking soda and lemon peels.
Brown sugar will not get hard if it is stored in the refrigerator.
Apricots should be stored at room temperature until they are ripe. Once ripened should be stored in a plastic bag in the refrigerator. They are very perishable!
Want to peel almonds (badam) fast.. Take almonds in a bowl, add water and microwave them for 1 mins. Then its easy to peel.
Rinse uncooked rice in a sieve under a cold running tap before cooking; this removes excess starch

 

Instructions (Preparation Steps):

  • • Wash and soak the apricots in water for 4-5 hours. De-seed them and chop them.
  • • Put the chopped apricots in a pan. Add 2 cups of water, lemon juice and sugar and cook till the apricots are soft and the sugar is dissolved.
  • • Transfer into a serving dish and garnish with almonds.
  • • Serve hot or cold with ice cream or fresh cream.
