Servings: 5 Preparation time:
  • Chicken, Meat And Skin And Giblets And Neck, Raw, Boneless Chicken 500 gms chicken
  • Onions, Raw, Onion 500 gms onion (chopped)
  • Tomato Paste, 2tsp tomato paste
  • Yogurt, Plain, Low Fat, Curd, yoghurt 2tsp yogurt
  • Turmeric, Ground,powder, Haldi, Nitu Didi turmeric powder 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt, Common Salt, Rock Salt, Table Salt 1tsp salt
  • Red Chili Powder, Paprika, Deggi Mirch, Red Chilli Powder, Red Chilly, Red Ch 1tsp red chili powder
  • Coriander Leaf Corriander, Cilantro Leaves, Green, Leaves, Parsley Leaves, Coriander Cilantro leaves (few/chopped)
  • Mint Leaves, Peppermint, Fresh, Mint leaves (few/chopped)
  • Garam Masala Powder, NITU DIDIs garam masala powder 1tsp garam masala
  • Potato, Flesh And Skin, Raw, aloo 2 potatoes (8 pieces)
  • Rice, White, Short-grain, Raw, Plain 1 kg rice (soak in water for 1 hour)
  • Canola Oil, Vegetable Oil, Cooking 2tbsp oil
  • Cardamom Powder, Cardamom Pd, Choti Elaichi, Cardamom, Cardamon, Elachi 1 (black) cardamom
  • Cloves, Ground, Clove, Lavang 4 cloves
  • Cinnamon, Ground, Cinamon, Dalchini, Cinnamon Powder, Cinnamon Sticks 1 cinnamon (stick)
  • Ginger Paste, Puree, 1/2tbsp ginger paste
  • Ginger Garlic Paste, 1/2tbsp garlic paste
  • Green Chillies, Chilies, Hot Chili, Green, Raw, Chilli, Chilly 3 green chilies (chopped)
  • Bay Leaf, Tej Patta 1 bay leaf
  • Saffron, NITU DIDI PURE SAFFRON , Kesari Powder, Kesar Saffron (pinch/soak in water)
  • Food color
  • Ghee, 1tsp ghee
  • Ginger Root, Raw, Fresh Ginger 1tsp ginger (thinly sliced)
  • Make powder:
  • Chakra Phool Star Anise, 1 star anise
  • 1 dagar fool
  • Nutmeg, Ground, Jaiphal Powder,nut mug 1piece nutmeg

Instructions (Preparation Steps):

  • First take the chicken pieces in a bowl
  • Add tomato paste and yogurt and mix well
  • Now put turmeric powder, salt, red chili powder and mix altogether well
  • Add chopped cilantro leaves and mint leaves
  • Put garam masala
  • Make a powder with star anise, dagar fool and nutmeg and mix the powder masala
  • Add the chopped potatoes and mix altogether well
  • Marinade the chicken now for 30 minutes
  • Heating up oil in a pan
  • Add the chopped onions and fry them till brown in color
  • Now add the ginger and garlic paste and green chilies
  • Mix well and fry till the raw smell of ginger and garlic goes
  • Now add the marinated chicken and mix well
  • Cover the pan and cook the chicken for 15 minutes
  • Add little water and mix it
  • Cover the pan again and cook for another 10 minutes
  • The chicken masala is cooked now
  • In other hand heating up water in a pan
  • Put black cardamom, cinnamon and cloves in the water
  • Add 1tbsp of salt and few drops of oil
  • Put bay leaf in the water
  • When the water starts to boil add the soaked rice
  • Cook the rice till it half boiled
  • Now drain the water
  • Take a flat pan on very low flame
  • Put some chicken masala
  • Add some rice over the chicken masala and spread it
  • Spread saffron water over the rice and few long thin slices of ginger and 1/2tsp garam masala
  • Now again put some chicken masala
  • Again put rice over the chicken masala and spread it
  • Spread saffron water over the rice and few long thin slices of ginger and 1/2tsp garam masala
  • Put some food color and ghee
  • Cover the pan and cook for another few minutes
  • Chicken biryani recipe is now ready to be served

Cook's Tip:
While cooking rice for pulao or biryani add 2 cups of water in 1 cup of Rice.Cook in pressure cooker for 1 whistle. open the cooker after 5min & then take out the rice to big thali & sprincle some water over it & saparate the rice with wait hands to avoid sticking of rice to hand.
Yoghurt: is a good source of calcium, it also contains probiotics which are beneficial to the gastrointestinal tract.
While cooking cabbage, add a bay leaf. This will reduce the smell during cooking and also give a subtle flavor.
