  • Chicken, Meat And Skin And Giblets And Neck, Raw, Boneless Chicken 500gms boneless chicken
  • For Marinade :
  • Yogurt, Plain, Low Fat, Curd, yoghurt 4 tsp yoghurt
  • Salt, Common Salt, Rock Salt, Table Salt Salt as per taste
  • Red Chili Powder, Paprika, Deggi Mirch, Red Chilli Powder, Red Chilly, Red Ch red chilli powder
  • Tandoori Masala Powder, tandoori masala
  • Cumin Seed, Shahi Jeera, Nitu Didi cumin seed 1/2 tsp cumin
  • Dhania Powder , Coriander Powder, Corriander Powder, NITU DIDIS CORIANDER POWDER, Coriander Pd 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • Lemon Juice, Raw, Lime Juice, Lemon Juice drops of lemon
  • Butter, 1/2 cup butter
  • Canola Oil, Vegetable Oil, Cooking oil for frying
  • Cumin Seed, Shahi Jeera, Nitu Didi cumin seed 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • Onions, Raw, Onion 1 large chopped onion
  • Ginger Garlic Paste, 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • Tomatoes, Red, Ripe, Raw, Red Tomato 2 large tomatoes
  • Tomato Paste, 1 tsp tomato paste
  • Bay Leaf, Tej Patta 1-2 bay leaves
  • Cardamom Powder, Cardamom Pd, Choti Elaichi, Cardamom, Cardamon, Elachi 2-3 cardamom(green cardamom)
  • Whipped Cream, Fresh Cream 1/2 cup whipped cream
  • Garam Masala Powder, NITU DIDIs garam masala powder 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Pepper, Black Powder, Pippali, Ground Pepper 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  • Turmeric, Ground,powder, Haldi, Nitu Didi turmeric powder 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • Amchur Powder, Mango Pd, Mango Powder, Amchoor Powder,dry Mango Powder, Man 1/2 tsp mango powder
  • Cinnamon, Ground, Cinamon, Dalchini, Cinnamon Powder, Cinnamon Sticks 2 cinnamon (sticks)
  • Brown Sugar, 1 tsp brown sugar
  • Methi Leaves, Fenugreek Leaves 1 tsp Fenugreek leaves
  • Coriander Leaf Corriander, Cilantro Leaves, Green, Leaves, Parsley Leaves, Coriander Cilantro for garnishing

Instructions (Preparation Steps):

  • Cut chicken into small pieces.
  • Making Marinade :
  • Mix chicken pieces with 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp tandoori masala, 1/2 tsp cumin powder and 1/2 tsp coriander powder, 4 tsp yoghurt, few drops of lemon and allow it to marinate in fridge for about 1 hr.
  • Take a pan and put some 1/2 cup of butter add 1 tsp cumin seeds, chopped onion, ginger and garlic paste. Fry them until onions are brown. Take out the mixture and grind them.
  • In the pan fry tomatoes in butter again grind them separately.
  • In the same pan add 2 bay leaf, 2-3 cloves,cardamom pods and fry them. Now, add the marinated chicken and when chick turns white add the onion paste and tomato paste to it.
  • Adding Spices :
  • Add 1 tsp cumin seeds, salt as per taste, turmeric pow, 1/2 tsp red chilli powder, 1/2 tsp mango powder, 1 tsp brown sugar, some cinnamon to the mix and simmer the stove to form a gravy. After some 10 min add whipped cream and keep stirring. Add fenugreek leaves, 1/2 tsp black pepper pow, 1/2 tsp garam masala.Our mouth-watering Butter Chicken is ready.
  • Garnish with Cilantro leaves.
  • Serve with roti.

Cook's Tip:
1 cup heavy cream can be replaced by 1 cup evaporated milk OR ¾ cup milk with 1/3 cup of butter.
To prevent butter from melting during long journeys or picnics, put the packets in a flask along with a few ice cubes.
To make curd out of milk, a piece of green chilli can be added to the milk and soaked overnight.

    A couple of points. The cream used is thickened cream not whipped. Chopped fresh garlic and ginger is used in the video, not pastes as advised in the ingredients list. You really should marinate overnight not just one hour. Finally, given this is such a hands on fresh ingredient recipe was totally go smacked that in the video the cook used 'plastic' lemon juice in the marinade. This is a poor choice. Use fresh. Great dish. Tastes fantastic with a complex meld of flavours which is a delight to the.tasrebuds. DO watch the video so you get the timing right for adding the final three batches of spices.
